Rick Del Gado

Rick Del Gado is a radio producer. He was fired from WNEW-FM, along with hosts Opie & Anthony, after the 'Sex for Sam' incident, in which a couple were encouraged to have sex in St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York, and the results broadcast on the Opie & Anthony Show. He then joined the Preston and Steve show on Y100 WPLY Philadelphia. About a year later, he left Y100 for New York's Hot 97, but was fired on January 31, 2005, along with comedian Todd Lynn, for his role in writing, producing and broadcasting the "Tsunami Song", a parody of the 1985 single "We Are the World" which mocked the victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami.

In June 2005 Del Gado was hired by San Francisco radio station KYLD/WILD 94.9 to Co-Host and produce the "Strawberry in the Morning Show" with Strawberry (Eric Fielden) and Fay Carmona.

In 2006, Del Gado accompanied former radio show guest and aspiring singer Gilbert Gonzalez Jr. to an American Idol audition. Creating a sign with Gilbert's face that read "Gilbert stinks", Rick heckled him before and during the audition attempting to cause Gilbert to fail. Gilbert succeeded the preliminary rounds of the show anyway. Despite having been recently fired from the radio show that began reporting the progress of Gilbert on the show, Rick still followed Gilbert for his next round of American Idol without any radio show to report back to.

In January 2007, Del Gado and Strawberry created "the EF'R Show" and landed on 106.9 FreeFM in San Francisco until the station flipped format in May 2007. Currently, Del Gado hosts Ugly American Radio on Inravio.
