It is currently run by Brian Zambreno, (Principal), Emily Lilja Palmer (Assistant Principal), and Amy Winter (Administrative Assistant/Dean of Students). It is located in Richfield, Minnesota a first-ring suburb just south of Minneapolis. The community is mostly residential, and very supportive of our schools. School boundaries are roughly hwy 494 to the south, hwy 62 to the north, Xerxes Ave to the west, and Cedar Ave. to the east.

RMS serves about 920 students from the city of Richfield and surrounding areas. The school is organized into grade level teams. Sixth grade students are on smaller, more nurturing teams; 7th grade students "loop" to 8th grade with the same team of teachers. The teaming model at all grades allows for more personalization and depth of teaching.

Like Richfield High School students, RMS students are the Spartans. 7th and 8th graders have many options for sports both at the middle and high school levels. 6th graders can participate in some sports and all of the school's many intramural programs.

Famous quotes containing the words middle and/or school:

If these Essays were worthy of being judged, it might fall out, in my opinion, that they would not find much favour, either with common and vulgar minds, or with uncommon and eminent ones: the former would not find enough in them, the latter would find too much; they might manage to live somewhere in the middle region.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)

The school system, custodian of print culture, has no place for the rugged individual. It is, indeed, the homogenizing hopper into which we toss our integral tots for processing.
    Marshall McLuhan (1911–1980)
