Rhyners Record Shop

Rhyner's Record Shop was one of the oldest record shop operating in Trinidad and Tobago, on Prince Street, Port of Spain. It was founded in 1938 by Mr. Hilton Rhyner, who ran the store until his death, in 1981. His daughters, Miss Diana Rhyner and Miss Yvonne Rhyner, ran it until 2005, when it closed. Today, it has a duty free store O de Music Shop for travelers at Piarco International Airport, and an online store, which is based in Diego Martin. It sells CDs and records, when specifically requested, of calypso, pop, rock, oldies, vintage, ethnic, and more.

Famous quotes containing the words record and/or shop:

The case of Andrews is really a very bad one, as appears by the record already before me. Yet before receiving this I had ordered his punishment commuted to imprisonment ... and had so telegraphed. I did this, not on any merit in the case, but because I am trying to evade the butchering business lately.
    Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865)

The post-office appeared a singularly domestic institution here. Ever and anon the stage stopped before some low shop or dwelling, and a wheelwright or shoemaker appeared in his shirt- sleeves and leather apron, with spectacles newly donned, holding up Uncle Sam’s bag, as if it were a slice of home-made cake, for the travelers, while he retailed some piece of gossip to the driver, really as indifferent to the presence of the former as if they were so much baggage.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
