Reigate College - Academics

Academics

Recruiting from over 100 state and independent schools, the College also serves as the sixth form for its partner schools: Oakwood School, Reigate School, The Warwick School and de Stafford School. In July 2009, Reigate College objected to a proposal to open a sixth form at The Royal Alexandra and Albert School, and as a result they are no longer partners.

The College offers predominantly GCE AS/A level and BTEC two year courses, with provision for students to enrol on an Intermediate Programme (pre- A Level) and GCSE re-sit courses.

The College works through these programmes in partnership with parents and has a strong tutorial and guidance system to help and encourage students. Progress is monitored and evaluated on an ongoing basis, with additional support and specialist help offered to those who need it.

Famous quotes containing the word academics:

Almost all scholarly research carries practical and political implications. Better that we should spell these out ourselves than leave that task to people with a vested interest in stressing only some of the implications and falsifying others. The idea that academics should remain “above the fray” only gives ideologues license to misuse our work.
    Stephanie Coontz (b. 1944)

Our first line of defense in raising children with values is modeling good behavior ourselves. This is critical. How will our kids learn tolerance for others if our hearts are filled with hate? Learn compassion if we are indifferent? Perceive academics as important if soccer practice is a higher priority than homework?
    Fred G. Gosman (20th century)
