Spirituality of The Regnum Marianum Community

Regnum Marianum is a Catholic community, without any innovative theology. Originally Regnum was a community of diocesian priests, teaching and raising 10-18 year old boys, following the model of Saint Philip Neri and Don Bosco. After 1951 girls also joined the groups, and the age of members was growing. Now the Regnum is a community of priests and lay people, taking care of everybody from the youngest to the elderly. Some say, that Regnum is a parish without a geographical area.

Regnum is a special Hungarian community, with very few links to international movements, but their activities resemble those of the Communione e Liberazione in Italy.

Famous quotes containing the words spirituality and/or community:

Zen ... does not confuse spirituality with thinking about God while one is peeling potatoes. Zen spirituality is just to peel the potatoes.
    Alan Watts (1915–1973)

I do not mean to imply that the good old days were perfect. But the institutions and structure—the web—of society needed reform, not demolition. To have cut the institutional and community strands without replacing them with new ones proved to be a form of abuse to one generation and to the next. For so many Americans, the tragedy was not in dreaming that life could be better; the tragedy was that the dreaming ended.
    Richard Louv (20th century)
