  • In 1935 Norman Foster was born in Reddish and went onto study architecture at the University of Manchester. Baron Foster is one of the leading architects in the world and is noted for his works which include 30 St Mary Axe, the new Wembley Stadium, Hearst Tower, Torre Caja Madrid & Deutsche Bank Place. His work under-construction include, APIIC Tower, Hermitage Plaza, the new Camp Nou stadium, home of FC Barcelona & 200 Greenwich Street the second tower of the world trade complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City.
  • Also David Carr was born in Reddish, he is believed to be the first confirmed human case suffering from AIDS.
