Razak Al-Hassan - MMA Career - Maximum Fighting Championship

Maximum Fighting Championship

After Razak was released by the UFC, he was in talks with the Canadian promotion, but he never signed, he went on instead to fight Richard White at an NAFC event, where he won by rear naked choke in the 2nd round. After his fight with Demetrius Richards he was signed to fight on the undercard of MFC 26 against Mike Nickels, but pulled out and was replaced by Dwayne Lewis, who subsequently defeated Nickels at the event.

Razak eventually faced Lewis at MFC 27 and lost via split decision. Both announcers, Michael Schavello and Frank Trigg, scored the fight in Al-Hassan's favor.

Al-Hassan was expected to face Rodney Wallace on February 25, 2011 at MFC 28. But he was injured so he was forced out.

Famous quotes containing the words maximum and/or fighting:

Only at his maximum does an individual surpass all his derivative elements, and become purely himself. And most people never get there. In his own pure individuality a man surpasses his father and mother, and is utterly unknown to them.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)

You listen to artists fighting with each other, competing to the death like gladiators, in order to see who is going to get into a show, who is going to make it, who isn’t: who is going to get a full-page ad and who is going to get a half-page. Then I think, “Wouldn’t it be wonderful to go off somewhere and just do your work?”
    Howardena Pindell (b. 1943)
