Rational Rhapsody - History

History

Rhapsody was first released in 1996 by Israeli software company I-Logix Inc. Rhapsody was developed as an object-oriented tool for modeling and executing Statecharts, based on work done by David Harel at the Weizmann Institute of Science, who was the first to develop the concept of Statecharts.

In 2006, I-Logix's shareholders sold the company to Swedish software company Telelogic AB. Rhapsody became an IBM Rational product after the acquisition of Telelogic AB in 2008, like all former Telelogic products. Since the rebranding, Rational Rhapsody has been integrated with IBM Rational Quality Manager and IBM Rational Publishing Engine.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

    I saw the Arab map.
It resembled a mare shuffling on,
    dragging its history like saddlebags,
nearing its tomb and the pitch of hell.
Adonis [Ali Ahmed Said] (b. 1930)

Both place and time were changed, and I dwelt nearer to those parts of the universe and to those eras in history which had most attracted me.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

In nature, all is useful, all is beautiful. It is therefore beautiful, because it is alive, moving, reproductive; it is therefore useful, because it is symmetrical and fair. Beauty will not come at the call of a legislature, nor will it repeat in England or America its history in Greece. It will come, as always, unannounced, and spring up between the feet of brave and earnest men.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
