Rangers A.F.C. - Colours and Badge

Colours and Badge

Rangers AFC's colours are white shirts, black shorts and black socks. The colours are based on Derby County Colours, and were finalised in the early 1970's by the club secretary Bert Koppes. The change colours are all sky blue.
The club's 'stylised lion' crest was designed in 1972 by Yaap Koster. It is based on the lion found on the crest of the famous Scottish club, Rangers FC, and chosen because of the similarity in club names.

Famous quotes containing the words colours and, colours and/or badge:

    The sounding cataract
Haunted me like a passion: the tall rock,
The mountain, and the deep and gloomy wood,
Their colours and their forms, were then to me
An appetite: a feeling and a love,
That had no need of a remoter charm,
By thought supplied, or any interest
    Unborrowed from the eye.—
    William Wordsworth (1770–1850)

When we reflect on our past sentiments and affections, our thought is a faithful mirror, and copies its objects truly; but the colours which it employs are faint and dull, in comparison of those in which our original perceptions were clothed.
    David Hume (1711–1776)

Repose and cheerfulness are the badge of the gentleman,—repose in energy.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
