Ramstein High School

Ramstein High School

Ramstein American High School (or RHS) is a Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS) high school in the Kaiserslautern district, Germany, which serves the European portion of DoDDS. Their mascot is the Royale, a lion with a crown.

Ramstein American High School is located on Ramstein Air Base (RAB) which is just outside of Kaiserslautern, Germany. The Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC), which RAB is a part of, has an approximate population of 53,000 Americans, the largest concentration of United States Military outside of the United States.

The school population was at 1,057 students for school year 2007-08. There was an attempt at downsizing the school for the 2008-09 school year to approximately 850 students. However, this attempt failed with the new school population being above that of last years.

Famous quotes containing the words high and/or school:

Why does not the kitten betray some of the attributes common to the adult puss? A puppy is but a dog, plus high spirits, and minus common sense. We never hear our friends say they love puppies, but cannot bear dogs. A kitten is a thing apart; and many people who lack the discriminating enthusiasm for cats, who regard these beautiful beasts with aversion and mistrust, are won over easily, and cajoled out of their prejudices, by the deceitful wiles of kittenhood.
    Agnes Repplier (1858–1950)

Parental attitudes have greater correlation with pupil achievement than material home circumstances or variations in school and classroom organization, instructional materials, and particular teaching practices.
