US News and World Report ranks Ramapo 25th among "Regional Colleges in the Northeast."

In the latest edition of "America's Best Colleges," released by U.S. News & World Report, Ramapo College was once again named among the top schools in the Best Regional Universities, North category. Of the 42 public colleges and universities ranked, Ramapo College was listed at number six.

Ramapo College of New Jersey has been named to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance’s list of 100 best values in public colleges for 2011-12. The ranking cites four-year schools that combine outstanding education with economic value.

Ramapo advanced in ranking this year to 48 for in-state tuition, the seventh consecutive year the College has been included in the list.

The College is one of only three New Jersey public institutions of higher education included in the list, which was released this week. The report features institutions that deliver a high quality education at an affordable price, and Ramapo College was included due to its high four-year graduation rate, low average student debt at graduation, abundant financial aid and low cost. “We are gratified to see that our consistent efforts to ensure our students have a stellar education with faculty that teach and mentor and hands-on learning that prepares them to succeed personally and professionally – all at a reasonable price – have been recognized, again,” said President Peter P. Mercer.

Ramapo College has been recognized as a “Military Friendly School” in the 2012 Guide to Military Friendly Schools. Of the more than 8,000 colleges, universities and trade schools nation wide, only 1,518 schools were recognized as military friendly. Ramapo was noted for its services to veterans that include reasonable transfer of credit, financial benefits, veterans clubs, credit for military training and nationally recognized testing programs, flexible class schedules, and membership in the Service members Opportunities Colleges (SOC).

The John Templeton Foundation has named Ramapo College of New Jersey to its Honor Roll for Character-Building Colleges, which recognizes institutions that emphasize character development as an integral aspect of the undergraduate experience. Colleges must exhibit a strong and inspiring campus-wide ethos that articulates the expectations of personal and civic responsibility in all dimensions of college life.

The Anisfield School of Business has achieved accreditation for its undergraduate business program through AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). AACSB International accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools. Achieving AACSB accreditation required a rigorous, standards based, multi-year process that requires the commitment of the entire faculty and staff of the school as well as the on-going support of College administration. Key stakeholders include students, alumni and the business community, all of whom were included in the process. Ramapo College joins an elite group of institutions that have achieved business accreditation from AACSB International. Only 607 schools of business, or less than 5% worldwide, have earned this distinguished hallmark of excellence in management education.

Ramapo College of New Jersey is again one of the best colleges and universities in the Northeast according to The Princeton Review. The New York City-based education services company selected the school as one of 220 institutions it recommends in its "Best in the Northeast" section on its PrincetonReview.com feature 2012 Best Colleges Region by Region. It also profiles the school in its book," The Best Northeastern Colleges: 2012 Edition."

Ramapo College was selected by The Princeton Review based on data collected from several hundred schools in each region, visits to schools, student surveys and the opinions of independent and high school-based college advisors. Regional best colleges represent a range of institutions that vary by size, selectivity, character and locale. The 629 colleges named in 2012 Best Colleges Region by Region represent about 25 percent of the nation's 2,500 four-year colleges.

The Princeton Review asks students to rate their own schools on several issues - from the accessibility of their professors to quality of campus food - and answer questions about themselves, their fellow students and campus life.
