The Rajiv Gandhi National of Law has earned widespread appreciation for its proactive curriculum which consists of the globally tried-and-tested Major and Minor scheme. First years are given the option of choosing one major and two minors, a system advocated by most of the major universities of the world.

The faculty has been recognized as one of the best with authorities in particular areas holding positions of teaching.The International Law faculty has been undisputed as one of the best in all law colleges across the country.

The students have gained widespread appreciation for excelling in activities both academic and extra-curricular. The students have been published across a variety of law journals, reviews etc. both national and international. Mr. Kush Kalra, an alumni, received the Young Achievers' Award in 2009 after having been unanimously recognized as one of the upcoming legal researcher in the country. In extra-curriculars, the students have ben consistently ranked amongst the top law schools of the country in mooting, according to the Mooting Premier League. Pratika Shankar and Nagashayana, students of the graduating batch have also been adjudged Best Student Advocate at Stetson International Environmental Moot in 2010 and 2011 respectively. The University also boasts of a healthy debating culture, having excelled at some of the most reputed National Parliamentary Debates in the country.
