Queensland Academy For Science, Mathematics and Technology - Aims

Aims

QASMT was advertised as a school for “Queensland’s best and brightest” students. It was designed as a school where the most academically minded Year 10, 11 and 12 students in the state could conglomerate in a university-like environment.

As part of the 5-year school review, the QASMT Vision Statement changed in 2012 to:
"QASMT is committed to providing world-class education that nurtures excellence, fosters innovation and celebrates diversity."

This supersedes the previous QASMT Vision Statement of:
"The Queensland Academy will be internationally recognised for academic excellence while delivering a holistic education within a future focussed learning environment. Our students will be creative and active leaders who have a humanitarian outlook. We will promote connections with local, national and international stakeholders and provide an environment where intellectual risk taking and critical inquiry are valued."

Famous quotes containing the word aims:

Since he aims at great souls, he cannot miss. But if someone should slander me in this way, no one would believe him. For envy goes against the powerful. Yet slight men, apart from the great, are but a weak bulwark.
    Sophocles (497–406/5 B.C.)

Nature seems to have treasured up the depth of our mind talents and abilities that we are not aware of; it is the privilege of the passions alone to bring them to light, and to direct us sometimes to surer and more excellent aims than conscious effort could.
François, Duc De La Rochefoucauld (1613–1680)

In truth, the care and expense of our fathers aims only at furnishing our heads with knowledge; of judgement and virtue, little news.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)
