Quassy Amusement Park

Quassy Amusement Park, which was once called Lake Quassapaug Amusement Park, was founded as an amusement park in 1908 and sits on the south shore of Lake Quassapaug in Middlebury, Connecticut, United States. It has 22 rides on its 20 acres (81,000 m2).

While the park is mostly made up of dry rides, there is a water park known as the Saturation Station. Swimming in Lake Quassapaug is also available.

Quassy offers swimming, picnicking, a catering service, an arcade, a water park, and live entertainment including comedians and magic shows.

Friday nights at Quassy are "quarter night", in which the park sells hot dogs, soda and cotton candy for fifty cents. They also offer both Pay One Price for unlimited rides, as well as Pay Per Ride, in which visitors pay a separate price for each ride they go on.

Famous quotes containing the words amusement and/or park:

Are you in want of amusement nowadays? Then play a little at the game of getting a living. There was never anything equal to it. Do it temperately, though, and don’t sweat.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Linnæus, setting out for Lapland, surveys his “comb” and “spare shirt,” “leathern breeches” and “gauze cap to keep off gnats,” with as much complacency as Bonaparte a park of artillery for the Russian campaign. The quiet bravery of the man is admirable.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
