Famous quotes containing the words pyramids, regular and/or faces:
“Though castles topple on their warders heads,
Though palaces and pyramids do slope
Their heads to their foundations; though the treasure
Of natures germens tumble all together,
Even till destruction sickenanswer me
To what I ask you.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
“While youre playing cards with a regular guy or having a bite to eat with him, he seems a peaceable, good-humoured and not entirely dense person. But just begin a conversation with him about something inedible, politics or science, for instance, and he ends up in a deadend or starts in on such an obtuse and base philosophy that you can only wave your hand and leave.”
—Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (18601904)
“The innocence of those who grind the faces of the poor, but refrain from pinching the bottoms of their neighbours wives! The innocence of Ford, the innocence of Rockefeller! The nineteenth century was the Age of Innocencethat sort of innocence. With the result that were now almost ready to say that a man is seldom more innocently employed than when making love.”
—Aldous Huxley (18941963)
