Purbrook Junior School - School Campus

School Campus

There are 3 classrooms for each year. There is a Lower School (Year 3 & Year 4) and an Upper School (Year 5 & Year 6). There is an ICT suite in both the Lower and Upper School areas. They are located in the middle with the classrooms on the outside.

Located in the Upper School is a teacher's study room, technician's desk and toilets. In the Lower School is a Special Needs room known as The Hodan Room and toilets.

In between both the Upper and Lower School areas is Reception, Medical Office, Library, Offices, Staffroom, School Hall, School meals Kitchen, Disabled Toilet, Changing Rooms, Music Store, Teacher Cloakrooms and an Art Room.

The school hall was recently updated, with work being finished in September 2010. Nine and a half metres were added to the end of the hall, seriously modifying the geography of the school grounds. As small as the extension may sound, it makes an amazing amout of difference. All of this is down to the former headteacher Kevin Parfoot, to whom everyone involved with the school are eternally grateful.

The school seems large to start with but is in fact quite small but has a lot to offer in the small building.

Famous quotes containing the word school:

There is nothing intrinsically better about a child who happily bounces off to school the first day and a child who is wary, watchful, and takes a longer time to separate from his parents and join the group. Neither one nor the other is smarter, better adjusted, or destined for a better life.
    Ellen Galinsky (20th century)
