High Court of Punjab and Haryana Designated
In 1966, after the reorganisation of the State of Punjab, the High Court was designated as the High Court of Punjab and Haryana having its jurisdiction over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh because a new State named Haryana and the Union Territory of Chandigarh have been carved out of Punjab State on 1 November 1966 in the wake of the States Reorganisation Act, 1966.
