Hypnos: The Ultimate Enemy

Pulsar's one and only enemy was Hypnos, a humanoid alien who also had a clear plastic torso and switch embedded in his right side that when pressed spun a hypnotic patterned disc and created sparks inside the chest cavity. Pulsar was patented in 1976 but Mattel toys did not produce him until 1977.

Famous quotes containing the words ultimate and/or enemy:

Most women of [the WW II] generation have but one image of good motherhood—the one their mothers embodied. . . . Anything done “for the sake of the children” justified, even ennobled the mother’s role. Motherhood was tantamount to martyrdom during that unique era when children were gods. Those who appeared to put their own needs first were castigated and shunned—the ultimate damnation for a gender trained to be wholly dependent on the acceptance and praise of others.
    Melinda M. Marshall (20th century)

Life is a thin narrowness of taken-for-granted, a plank over a canyon in a fog. There is something under our feet, the taken-for-granted. A table is a table, food is food, we are we—because we don’t question these things. And science is the enemy because it is the questioner. Faith saves our souls alive by giving us a universe of the taken-for-granted.
    Rose Wilder Lane (1886–1968)
