Aftermath

Debs was arrested on federal charges, including conspiracy to obstruct the mail. He was defended by the prominent attorney, Clarence Darrow, as well as Lyman Trumbull. The mail charges were dropped before the trial, but Debs was convicted of violating the court injunction against the strike. He was sentenced to six months in prison.
