Pulaski County Special School District

Pulaski County Special School District (PCSSD) is one of three public school districts in Pulaski County, Arkansas; the others are the Little Rock School District and the North Little Rock School District that is accredited by the Arkansas Department of Education. PCSSD has its headquarters in Sweet Home, an unincorporated area near Little Rock.

Geographically, PCSSD is the state's fifth largest district and encompasses a total 729 square miles (1,890 km2), and includes all areas of the county—incorporated and unincorporated—excluding areas within the city limits of Little Rock, Cammack Village and North Little Rock. This district enrolls students from Little Rock, North Little Rock, Sherwood, Jacksonville, Gravel Ridge, Scott, McAlmont, Maumelle, Mabelvale, Woodson, Sweet Home, College Station, Ironton, Cabot, Wrightsville, and Alexander.

Famous quotes containing the words county, special, school and/or district:

Anti-Nebraska, Know-Nothings, and general disgust with the powers that be, have carried this county [Hamilton County, Ohio] by between seven and eight thousand majority! How people do hate Catholics, and what a happiness it was to show it in what seemed a lawful and patriotic manner.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

I have the handicap of being born with a special language to which I alone have the key.
    Gustave Flaubert (1821–1880)

By school age, many boys experience pressure to reveal inner feelings as humiliating. They think their mothers are saying to them, “You must be hiding something shameful.” And shucking clams is a snap compared to prying secrets out of a boy who’s decided to “clam up.”
    Ron Taffel (20th century)

Most works of art, like most wines, ought to be consumed in the district of their fabrication.
    Rebecca West (1892–1983)
