Guaynabo is a town which is colloquially known as "Guaynabo City", and it has a large number of supporters of statehood for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Almost every government agency in Guaynabo is switching to English, and roads are not the exception. After PR-199 passes by the Centro de Bellas Artes and intersects Puerto Rico Highway 837, there can be board reading "West 199", "JCT" and similar.

Famous quotes containing the word english:

Before I knew that I was Jewish or a girl I knew that I was a member of the working class. At a time when I had not yet grasped the significance of the fact that in my house English was a second language, or that I wore dresses while my brother wore pants, I knew—and I knew it was important to know—that Papa worked hard all day long.
    Vivian Gornick (b. 1935)

It is an equal failing to trust everybody, and to trust nobody.
    —18th-century English proverb.
