Sponsorship
From 2003 to 2006, Proton were the main sponsors of Norwich City F.C., the English football club. The Lotus brand was advertised on the club's away shirts. From 1999 to 2000 Proton sponsored Turkish football club Fenerbahçe. In Australia it sponsored the Wests Tigers rugby club.
Proton provides crew cars for the Tour de Langkawi Cycling Tour. In the 2011 Tour this amounted to 150 vehicles and approximately 50 staff including mechanics and drivers for the Cavalcade Convoy.
