Proton (automobile) - Logo and Branding

Logo and Branding

From 1983 the manufacturer's badge on the front of the car was a mid-blue shield with a yellow crescent below a yellow fourteen-pointed star - references to Malaysia's coat of arms. In 2000 this was revised into its current form, a stylized yellow tiger head on a green roundel upon a darker blue shield, with the Proton name in yellow capital letters. At the same time text representations of the Proton name were changed from lowercase italic text "proton" to uppercase "PROTON". Sales collateral and PR literature use both "Proton" and "PROTON".
