Regulatiory Domains in Proteolysis
Protease may have one or more regulatory domains -
- Calcium-binding domain - e.g. prothrombin, factor IX, X, VII, protein C in blood clotting cascade, calpain.
- Kringle domain - e.g. in prothrombin it keeps the protease inactive.
