Project NEx T - Selection of Fellows

Selection of Fellows

The program is aimed at faculty who are in their first or second year of a full-time teaching position after receiving their Ph.D. Fellows are selected based on an application, including a short curriculum vitae, a research statement, and a teaching statement expressing interest in the program. The application also requires a letter from the applicant's department chair guaranteeing funding to attend several conferences. The number of selected fellows depends on funding. Currently, about 100 are selected each year.

Famous quotes containing the words selection of, selection and/or fellows:

The books for young people say a great deal about the selection of Friends; it is because they really have nothing to say about Friends. They mean associates and confidants merely.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Judge Ginsburg’s selection should be a model—chosen on merit and not ideology, despite some naysaying, with little advance publicity. Her treatment could begin to overturn a terrible precedent: that is, that the most terrifying sentence among the accomplished in America has become, “Honey—the White House is on the phone.”
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)

Boys are capital fellows in their own way, among their mates; but they are unwholesome companions for grown people.
    Charles Lamb (1775–1834)
