The Professional Licensee is a professional license allowing you to practice engineering or geoscience within a clearly defined scope of practice. Professional Licensees are permitted to independently practice engineering and/or geoscience in Alberta only within narrow, defined scopes of practice (a defined, individualized scope of practice specified is specified by the APEGA Board of Examiners for each member)and to take responsibility for that work. This category of licensure recognizes that certain qualified individuals can be permitted to independently carry out certain specific functions normally within the definition of professional engineering or professional geoscience without the supervision of a Professional Engineer or Professional Geoscientist.
