Professional Children's School

Professional Children's School is a not-for-profit, college preparatory school enrolling 200 students (mostly working or aspiring child actors or dancers) in grades 6-12. The school was founded in New York City in 1914 to provide an academic education to young people working on the New York stage, in Vaudeville, or "on the road". Today's students include athletes, dancers, musicians and others who require the flexibility to pursue challenging goals that may sometimes require absence from school for professional or pre-professional reasons. PCS is accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools and PCS graduates attain admission to the most competitive colleges and universities.

Famous quotes containing the words professional, children and/or school:

Three words that still have meaning, that I think we can apply to all professional writing, are discovery, originality, invention. The professional writer discovers some aspect of the world and invents out of the speech of his time some particularly apt and original way of putting it down on paper.
    John Dos Passos (1896–1970)

The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the revealed things belong to us and to our children forever, to observe all the words of this law.
    Bible: Hebrew, Deuteronomy 29:29.

The most powerful lessons about ethics and morality do not come from school discussions or classes in character building. They come from family life where people treat one another with respect, consideration, and love.
    Neil Kurshan (20th century)
