Famous quotes containing the words private, label and/or rights:

The highest panegyric, therefore, that private virtue can receive, is the praise of servants.
    Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)

The formation of an oppositional world view is necessary for feminist struggle. This means that the world we have most intimately known, the world in which we feel “safe” ... must be radically changed. Perhaps it is the knowledge that everyone must change, not just those we label enemies or oppressors, that has so far served to check our revolutionary impulses.
    Bell (c. 1955)

In the course of the actual attainment of selfish ends—an attainment conditioned in this way by universality—there is formed a system of complete interdependence, wherein the livelihood, happiness, and legal status of one man is interwoven with the livelihood, happiness, and rights of all. Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770–1831)
