Private Hospitals Association (Jordan)
Private Hospitals Association, often abbreviated as PHA, is a private, voluntary, non-profit organization that was established in 1984, representing the private hospitals in Jordan. Its membership is open to all private hospitals in Jordan. PHA applies quality standards and general guidelines on its members in order to maintain and perhaps raise the Jordanian health care reputation. Recently, the association applied the national accreditation program to all medical sectors that belong to the association. And now, Jordan’s high tech hospitals, such as the Specialty Hospital, the Arab Medical Centre, Al Khalidi Medical Center and many others, with their high class healthcare at costs significantly less than those of Europe and the US, gained the PHA a high reputation for its work and progress for reaching its aim.

“... women can never do efficient and general service in hospitals until their dress is prescribed by laws inexorable as those of the Medes and Persians. Then, that dress should be entirely destitute of steel, starch, whale-bone, flounces, and ornaments of all descriptions; should rest on the shoulders, have a skirt from the waist to the ankle, and a waist which leaves room for breathing.”
—Jane Grey Swisshelm (18151884)
“An association of men who will not quarrel with one another is a thing which has never yet existed, from the greatest confederacy of nations down to a town meeting or a vestry.”
