Princess Ozma - Ozma As A Romantic Heroine

Ozma As A Romantic Heroine

Ruth Plumly Thompson had Ozma insist that she will never get married, in Kabumpo in Oz.

However, several published apocryphal Oz books depict Ozma being romanced and married by various Gary Stu-type characters.

Baum himself, however, hinted that Ozma may not be interested in men at all. She and Dorothy are seen in "The Emerald City of Oz" walking through a garden holding hands and sharing kisses.

In unofficial works after the 1990s, Ozma apparently became engaged to a man named Milo Starling in the "Umbrella Man of Oz" trilogy by Charles Phipps, published through a vanity press.

Another story in which Ozma acquires a boyfriend was written by David Hardenbrook, which stars a young and lovable computer geek named Dan Maryk.

Famous quotes containing the word romantic:

The importance of a lost romantic vision should not be underestimated. In such a vision is power as well as joy. In it is meaning. Life is flat, barren, zestless, if one can find one’s lost vision nowhere.
