PrimeTel is a private Cypriot telecommunications carrier. Through their partnership with Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC), they have built their own fiber-optic network and ADSL2+ platform. PrimeTel entered the Cypriot retail market in 2006 with a triple-play Internet, IPTV and telephony offering under the PrimeHome brand.
In June 2011, PrimeTel announced the launch of its submarine fiber cable landing station in Geroskipou and that Reliance Globalcom had terminated its 2.7 terabit HAWK submarine cable system into it . This makes PrimeTel the first private operator with such facilities, which traditionally have been a monopoly of CYTA.
In May 2011, PrimeTel launched the first MVNO in Cyprus, making it the third cellphone operator on the island. It uses the network of the partially state-owned CYTA and is working under the prefix 95.
