Primary Domain Controller

A Primary Domain Controller (PDC) is a server computer in a Windows domain. A domain is a group of computers (technically named a "forest"), where access to a variety of computer resources is controlled by the PDC. Various account types exist in the domain, the most basic is the "guest" or "anonymous login" account. The PDC has an administration account which has overall total control of the domain resources.

Famous quotes containing the words primary and/or domain:

The traditional American husband and father had the responsibilities—and the privileges—of playing the role of primary provider. Sharing that role is not easy. To yield exclusive access to the role is to surrender some of the potential for fulfilling the hero fantasy—a fantasy that appeals to us all. The loss is far from trivial.
    Faye J. Crosby (20th century)

The vice named surrealism is the immoderate and impassioned use of the stupefacient image or rather of the uncontrolled provocation of the image for its own sake and for the element of unpredictable perturbation and of metamorphosis which it introduces into the domain of representation; for each image on each occasion forces you to revise the entire Universe.
    Louis Aragon (1897–1982)
