Pride Park Stadium - Notable Non-football Events

Notable Non-football Events

Although primarily a football venue, Pride Park Stadium has also hosted events away from sport. It first hosted Rod Stewart on 26 June 2005, whilst touring his Stardust: The Great American Songbook, Volume III album. This was followed by Red Hot Chili Peppers, who played at the ground as part of the tour for their Stadium Arcadium album on 5 June 2006.

Monster Jam came to Pride Park Stadium on May 28th & 29th.

Pride Park has been selected as a venue to host games at the Rugby World Cup in 2015.

Famous quotes containing the words notable and/or events:

In one notable instance, where the United States Army and a hundred years of persuasion failed, a highway has succeeded. The Seminole Indians surrendered to the Tamiami Trail. From the Everglades the remnants of this race emerged, soon after the trail was built, to set up their palm-thatched villages along the road and to hoist tribal flags as a lure to passing motorists.
—For the State of Florida, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

This is certainly not the place for a discourse about what festivals are for. Discussions on this theme were plentiful during that phase of preparation and on the whole were fruitless. My experience is that discussion is fruitless. What sets forth and demonstrates is the sight of events in action, is living through these events and understanding them.
    Doris Lessing (b. 1919)
