Price Drop - Poor Quality and Older Items

Poor Quality and Older Items

The channel specialises in selling goods initially pricing them at supposedly high RRP prices and then heavily discounting them live on screen. The presenter tries hard to talk the buyer into thinking that items sold are high value and that you're getting a bargain when in practice a lot of the items can be bought in discount high street shops for similar prices when P&P and the premium rate phone call are taken into account. Many electrical items are 'yesterday's' technology and you could therefore position price drop in the market as an outlet store.

Famous quotes containing the words poor, quality, older and/or items:

That the poor are invisible is one of the most important things about them. They are not simply neglected and forgotten as in the old rhetoric of reform; what is much worse, they are not seen.
    Michael Harrington (1928–1989)

Our sense of duty must often wait for some work which shall take the place of dilettanteism [sic] and make us feel that the quality of our action is not a matter of indifference.
George Eliot [Mary Ann (or Marian)

One thing is certain the only thing that makes you younger or older is that nothing can happen that is different from what you expected and when that happens and it mostly does happen everything is different from what you expected then there is no difference between
    being younger or older.
    Gertrude Stein (1874–1946)

The best way to teach a child restraint and generosity is to be a model of those qualities yourself. If your child sees that you want a particular item but refrain from buying it, either because it isn’t practical or because you can’t afford it, he will begin to understand restraint. Likewise, if you donate books or clothing to charity, take him with you to distribute the items to teach him about generosity.
    Lawrence Balter (20th century)
