Prague British School

Prague British School, Prague, Czech Republic (PBS) is an independent English language, multinational day school, providing British education for children aged between 20 months and 19 years. In 1996, the school introduced the IGCSE programme. In 2012, the school had celebrated its 20th anniversary of establishment.

The school was established as the British International School Prague (BISP) in 1992. The name was changed to Prague British School in 2006. BISP had 500 registered students at the time.

PBS pupils up to Year 9 follow the National Curriculum for England. Pupils in Years 10 and 11 follow the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), followed by the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma in years 12 and 13.

Classes throughout the school are small which allows for carefully planned individual programmes of study where needed. All instruction is in English with extensive support for children for whom English is not a first language. Having introduced the IGCSE programme in 1996 and the IB two years later, students consistently achieve results well above the UK average and in line with independent UK schools.
