Story
The game is set in a post-apocalyptic, near-future world. Story wise, most of earth's population was destroyed by a global holocaust, and the survivors are mostly freaks, who are trying to make a living by resorting to violence/hunting, and the rich, who have formed enclaves underground to hide from the environmental holocaust conditions. The freaks' (illegal) recreation, known as powersliding, offers prizes of fresh fruit (rare because of the extreme environmental catastrophe) for the champions. The player can take control of several extremely unusual racers, not specific to each car. The object of the game, played out as any of the characters, is to play through the championships: namely; Novice, Advanced, and to finally win at the Expert level.

Famous quotes containing the word story:
“And now, dear little children, who may this story read,
To idle, silly, flattering words, I pray you neer give heed;
Unto an evil counselor close heart, and ear, and eye,
And take a lesson from this tale of the Spider and the Fly.”
—Mary Howitt (17991888)
“Wit is often concise and sparkling, compressed into an original pun or metaphor. Brevity is said to be its soul. Humor can be more leisurely, diffused through a whole story or picture which undertakes to show some of the comic aspects of life. What it devalues may be human nature in general, by showing that certain faults or weaknesses are universal. As such it is kinder and more philosophic than wit which focuses on a certain individual, class, or social group.”
—Thomas Munro (18971974)
“The child ... stands upon a place apart, a little spectator of the world, before whom men and women come and go, events fall out, years open their slow story and are noted or let go as his mood chances to serve them. The play touches him not. He but looks on, thinks his own thought, and turns away, not even expecting his cue to enter the plot and speak. He waits,he knows not for what.”
—Woodrow Wilson (18561924)
