Port Eynon - Port Eynon Bay

Port Eynon Bay

Port Eynon Bay is a very popular beach resort beside the village of Port Eynon. Port Eynon Point, to the south west of the bay, is the most southerly point of the Gower Peninsula. The bay is also in the area of outstanding natural beauty.

Both Port Eynon and Horton beaches have suffered from denudation of their sand cover, possibly caused by dredging activities in the Bristol Channel.

Famous quotes containing the words port and/or bay:

    How happy is the sailor’s life,
    From coast to coast to roam;
    In every port he finds a wife,
    In every land a home.
    Isaac Bickerstaffe (c. 1735–1812)

    Shall we now
    Contaminate our fingers with base bribes,
    And sell the mighty space of our large honors
    For so much trash as may be grasped thus?
    I had rather be a dog and bay the moon
    Than such a Roman.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
