Famous quotes containing the words line of, line, duty and/or deaths:

Any walk through a park that runs between a double line of mangy trees and passes brazenly by the ladies’ toilet is invariably known as “Lover’s Lane.”
    F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896–1940)

Our first line of defense in raising children with values is modeling good behavior ourselves. This is critical. How will our kids learn tolerance for others if our hearts are filled with hate? Learn compassion if we are indifferent? Perceive academics as important if soccer practice is a higher priority than homework?
    Fred G. Gosman (20th century)

His duty he always faithfully did; but duty is sometimes a dry obligation, and he was for irrigating its aridity, whensoever possible, with a fertilizing decoction of strong waters.
    Herman Melville (1819–1891)

You lived too long, we have supped full with heroes,
they waste their deaths on us.
    C.D. Andrews (1913–1992)
