Populist Caucus - Founding Principles

Founding Principles

The Founding Principles of the Caucus are:

  • Fighting for working families and the middle class through the establishment of an equitable tax structure, fair wages, proper benefits, a level playing field at the negotiating table, and secure, solvent retirement plans.
  • Providing affordable, accessible, quality health care to all Americans.
  • Ensuring accessible, quality primary education for all American children, and affordable college education for all who want it.
  • Protecting consumers, so that Americans can once again have faith in the safety and effectiveness of the products they purchase.
  • Defending American competitiveness by fighting for fair trade principles.
  • Creating and retaining good-paying jobs in America.

Famous quotes containing the words founding and/or principles:

The Founding Fathers in their wisdom decided that children were an unnatural strain on parents. So they provided jails called schools, equipped with tortures called an education. School is where you go between when your parents can’t take you and industry can’t take you.
    John Updike (b. 1932)

That, upon the whole, we may conclude that the Christian religion not only was at first attended with miracles, but even at this day cannot be believed by any reasonable person without one. Mere reason is insufficient to convince us of its veracity: And whoever is moved by Faith to assent to it, is conscious of a continued miracle in his own person, which subverts all the principles of his understanding, and gives him a determination to believe what is most contrary to custom and experience.
    David Hume (1711–1776)
