DVD Releases
The longest cut of the film is the Japanese cut at 122 minutes. The Hong Kong cut is 101 minutes and the US is 92 minutes. The version in the IVL trilogy DVD boxset is the Japanese version but with Hong Kong blooper footage (but retaining the soundtrack used in the Japanese version). The Hong Kong Legends version is cropped from the original aspect ratio. In 2007, Dragon Dynasty (The Weinstein Company) released a version of the DVD that also contains the 122 minute cut of the film. Hong Kong based company Kam & Ronsom Enterprise have announced that they will release the first three Police Story films on Blu-ray Disc in June 2009.
Shout! Factory announced they would be releasing Police Story and Police Story 2 as a double feature on DVD and Blu-ray on April 16, 2013.
