Real-life Nassau County Police Detective Elmer Robinson, played by John Travolta, is the protagonist of the 2007 film Lonely Hearts, a fictionalized depiction of the hunt for murderers Raymond Fernandez and Martha Beck. The Nassau County Police is also featured in the movie Goodfellas. The Nassau County Police was portrayed in a stationhouse scene in the television show Mad Men.

    Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770–1831)
