Training
The International Police Mountain Bike Association offers training as well as an annual conference called Police On Bikes. The course has its roots in John Forester's Effective Cycling. In the US the LEBA or Law Enforcement Bicycling Association help regulate standards of training for police officers. LEBA offer officers three levels of certification.
Training topics may include, but are not limited to, hazards (visual and surface), nutrition, slow speed handling, community policing, traffic law, bike nomenclature, bike maintenance, night patrol, suspect approaches and braking.

Famous quotes containing the word training:
“The area [of toilet training] is one where a child really does possess the power to defy. Strong pressure leads to a powerful struggle. The issue then is not toilet training but who holds the reinsmother or child? And the child has most of the ammunition!”
—Dorothy Corkville Briggs (20th century)
“... the time will come when no servant will be hired without a diploma from some training school, and a girl will as much expect to fit herself for house-maid or cook, as for dressmaker or any trade.”
—Lydia Hoyt Farmer (18421903)
“The want of education and moral training is the only real barrier that exists between the different classes of men. Nature, reason, and Christianity recognize no other. Pride may say Nay; but Pride was always a liar, and a great hater of the truth.”
—Susanna Moodie (18031885)
