People
The people are multi-ethnic in nature. Their ancestry is a mix between Arabs, Malay, Turkish and Dravidian though no one can directly trace their lineage directly to foreign blood. Centuries of integration and inter marriages with the local population created Tamil Muslims and they have been patriotic Indians all along. The local language spoken is Tamil. Some of them have distinct physical features from Arab and Turkish ancestors.
