PKP Cargo is a company of the PKP Group in Poland responsible for freight transport. It owns 3,549 locomotives and 50,731 freight wagons. It is the largest railway cargo carrier in Poland and second largest in the European Union.
The company was founded after dividing Polskie Koleje Państwowe (all-national rail operator) into several dozen companies to meet EU regulations.
PKP Group plans to privatise PKP Cargo in 2011.
