Current Use and Activities

Today, the Pitwater is a popular water recreation, such as sailing and fishing. The area is an important natural heritage area that comprises wetlands, bushland, lagoons, a waterway, rock platforms and beaches.

The Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Yacht Race is held in January annually, and in 2013, will be in its 32nd year.

The area gives its name to:

  • Pittwater Park
  • Little Pittwater Bay, in Hornsby Shire
