Schools
The Pittsford Central School District operates five elementary, two middle and two high schools across the District. By convention, the District names schools for the road on which they are located.
A major remodeling and construction program was undertaken in 2004. This involves modernization of existing buildings, expansion of SHS, and the construction of the new CRMS. The SHS remodeling was completed in 2007, while the construction of CRMS was completed in time for the 2006–2007 school year

Famous quotes containing the word schools:
“In schools all over the world, little boys learn that their country is the greatest in the world, and the highest honor that could befall them would be to defend it heroically someday. The fact that empathy has traditionally been conditioned out of boys facilitates their obedience to leaders who order them to kill strangers.”
—Myriam Miedzian, U.S. author. Boys Will Be Boys, ch. 3 (1991)
“To me, nothing can be more important than giving children books, It’s better to be giving books to children than drug treatment to them when they’re 15 years old. Did it ever occur to anyone that if you put nice libraries in public schools you wouldn’t have to put them in prisons?”
—Fran Lebowitz (20th century)
“If the women of the United States, with their free schools and all their enlarged liberties, are not superior to women brought up under monarchical forms of government, then there is no good in liberty.”
—Anna Howard Shaw (1847–1919)
