Operations
The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire currently operates out of 29 Fire Stations, located throughout the city in 4 Battalions, under the command of 4 Battalion Chiefs and 1 Deputy Chief per shift. The PBF also operates a fire apparatus fleet of 28 Engine Companies(including 3 Quints), 11 Truck Companies, 1 Mobile Air Compressor(M.A.C.) Unit, and numerous other special, support, and reserve units.
