Cocktails
Some of the most popular cocktails with pisco include:
- Pisco Punch, the first known pisco cocktail in the world, invented in San Francisco, California in the 19th Century. It contained pineapple, gum Arabic, and syrup, among other ingredients.
- Pisco Sour, Peruvian national cocktail, prepared with egg white, lime juice, simple syrup, and bitters. The Chilean version usually has no bitters.
- Serena Libre, sweeter than Pisco Sour, made with Chilean Papaya juice and sugar.
- Algarrobina, Peruvian Pisco with Algarrobina syrup, cinnamon, egg yolk, and cream. (Carob syrup can be substituted for algarrobina syrup, but the taste is slightly different)
