Coordinates: 42°53′43″N 71°19′3″W / 42.89528°N 71.3175°W / 42.89528; -71.3175 Pinkerton Academy is a secondary school in Derry, New Hampshire. It is the largest independent academy in the United States, serving roughly 3,100 students as the high school (grades 9 - 12) for the communities of Derry, Hampstead, and Chester. The town of Auburn will join Pinkerton in Fall of 2013. The academy is a private non-profit corporation administered by a Headmaster, who in turn acts under the direction of an elected 15 member Board of Trustees.

The academy is set on a large New England campus. Since the original four-room Old Academy Building opened in 1815, major buildings have been constructed including the Academy Building (fall 2011) and the Arts and Humanities Center dedicated in 2002. The Academy Building is specifically tailored to the needs of incoming 9th grade students, focused on their transition from middle school. In addition to these major buildings, eight smaller buildings that serve specific needs are scattered around the campus. Renovations and construction are presently underway for upgraded and new facilities in Career and Technical Education, funded by a state grant.
