Pink BH

Pink BH is a regional television station in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is a member of the Pink Media Group which also owns sister television stations in Serbia (RTV Pink) and Montenegro (Pink M). Pink BH's main headquarters is in Sarajevo.

The station began operations in May 2003 with a limited geographic reach. Pink BH received its broadcast license for a ten-year period from the BiH Communications Regulatory Agency on the 15th July 2005. Pink BH's current reach is 75 percent of the country, covering some 63 percent of the population. Pink BH has offices and studios in Sarajevo and Banja Luka. On June 24, 2008, the network opened its new headquarters in AlipaĊĦino polje neighborhood in Sarajevo.

TV Pink BH is the leading television station countrywide, beating out other privately owned commercial stations and the public television stations. It is the only television station that has managed to cultivate audiences in the two administrative entities (the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska), and among all three major ethnic groups.

In April 2010, it was reported that Pink BH downsized a large portion of its staff. Out of 163 employees, 57 got laid off on this occasion. The network's management said the decision had been made due to the station's decreasing revenue that went down 50% since 2008. Similarly, the once most watched station's viewership decreased in this period.

Famous quotes containing the word pink:

Then, bringing me the joy we feel when wee see a work by our favorite painter which differs from any other that we know, or if we are led before a painting of which we have until then only seen a pencil sketch, if a musical piece heard only on the piano appears before us clothed in the colors of the orchestra, my grandfather called me the [hawthorn] hedge at Tansonville, saying, “You who are so fond of hawthorns, look at this pink thorn, isn’t it lovely?”
    Marcel Proust (1871–1922)
